I was happy I chose it as a quieter spot than Fairmont Hotsprings and the hotel is about 2 minutes from the entry to the park and the mineral pools. Location: Radium is a great spot to stay to explore Kootenay National Park, including the mineral pools. This is a pet friendly hotel so if this is a concern for you, you may want to ask for a room a distance from pet rooms. There was also quite a bit of barking from a yappy dog down the hall, which fortunately ended early in the evening and I did not have to ask staff to assist. There is quite a bit of traffic but the double glazed windows in my room minimised it sufficiently, and I was at ground level on the street side. If you are particularly sound sensitive you may want to ask for a room facing away from the main roads (ask for Southwest I think). The bathroom had sufficient space but the edge of the tub is quite high to step over. My room was not specifically accessible but I think would have been navigable with a walker if the chair is removed from the desk at the foot of the bed. Accessibility: There is level entry and an elevator. A happy accident of the Sunday evening restaurant closure was that the staff directed me to some local places, including the pub that had music on that night. If these are key things for you, confirm their hours in advance. I visited in early spring, pretty much between seasons and the spa was closed the two days I was there and the restaurant closed one of them. The staff were all helpful and personable.
